Parkour is fun and I want to do some of these vaults! Here is a shot of me goofing around at Gold Coast Tattoo last weekend! According to the video this might be considered a ‘lazy vault’, but I jumped another human so that has to count for something!
For some reason my video and pics of my Supermoto day is not uploading so I found this sick video to share. I watched it months ago and still think it is one of the sickest things Ive seen. #2 starts in the back and finishes 2nd! RAD
This is the first Supermoto video I ever watched…I came me the sickness! 2:15…are you kidding me?!?
I painted this Rose up quick one day at work, but somehow the shop ate it and I no longer have the original
The story behind this sign is one day Paul Urich and I were getting coffee at Philz coffee in SF, which has the most incredible coffee. Paul asked the girl behind the counter after taking a sip of his coffee, “Why does this taste so good?” Without missing a beat Liz, the barista, says, “Oh, its sweetened with the tears of babies!”
INCREDIBLE!
That short interchange inspired me to paint this up and go give it to Liz the next day. Needless to say she was taken aback and totally stoked! So was I!
Last but not least, I painted this American Robin up for my 4 year old daughter who is in the pic below. She is RAD beyond belief and always cheers me up! Love you Mercinary!
Like the title of this post says…I suck at updating this blog! For that I am sorry! I have been very busy lately. I am still working out the details of the Invisible Dagger Society – Members Only area of the site. This will be a monthly members only society and each month you will receive a new tip on age old secret drawing formulas used by tattooers from the past to today! I also still have my Rose course available HERE! If you want to know how to draw a traditional rose using a couple of cool formulas then this video course is for you.
Also, my Paint Flash Course is still available online as well as in DVD format. Go HERE for the online version and hit me up if you are interested in the DVD version. My email is joeswanson@thisistattoo.com if you wanna start painting some great tattoo flash designs using the techniques like spit shading and tinting your flash sheets.
If anyone is interested I would also consider one-on-one training/critique via skype and email. Email me if you want more personalized training to get your art going in the right direction.
Here is one of my latest paintings I did for a friend of mine in SF. It is called “Jesus owned Pitbuls” (sorry if the quality of photo is not great it was taken with my iphone quickly before I gave it to my friend)
So I made it back from Mario Barth’s Biggest Tattoo Show On Earth in one piece. The show was good and I appreciate all the artist who picked up a print or original. Special thanks goes out to Duane at ozark irons, thanks man I cant wait to use the machine. Check him out for a great tattoo machine. Also, the guys from Metamorphosis Tattoo & Piercing, thanks for the support and Donnie I’ll see you on the HAMB!
Overall the convention was good. I taught my Painting Tattoo Flash Seminar and it went well, and had students from both the US and one from Israel. Here is what one student who took six different seminars during the weekend had to say.
As a reminder I have launched my Drawing Tattoo Style Roses course. If you are a tattooer or just an artist and wanna learn how to draw a tattoo style rose then check out this course. Just for checking out the course you will be able to pick up a print of one of my most recent paintings called ‘Glory Days’.
So I have been expanding my product line and will soon be releasing a couple more products to help out aspiring artists.
One of those products is a Drawing Tattoo Style Roses instructional course. This course will take you step by step thru the process of drawing the perfect tattoo style roses.
For checking out this course I am also going to be giving away a print of my most recent painting. The painting is entitled, ‘Glory Days’ and was drawn using the same techniques I show in this course.
Here is a shot of the print I will be giving away.
So I am hoping to get this all released prior to my convention in vegas coming up. You can check that out right HERE!
So we are one week into the Retrieval Project and day 7 brings the title ‘hope’. Here is what I did for the title.
This was painted on watercolor paper and is 8×10 inches in size. I am pretty happy with the girl in the corner and the center rays coming down. However, I think I could have done something different with the flowers. I still am happy with it and it looks really good in a black matte.
The original painting is being sold for $40 USD and is available here.
There are also some other originals still available including ‘grief’ which is shown below.
Thanks for checking it out be sure to keep stopping back each day to see the new originals. We are also going to be giving away a limited edition print of a painting I did entitled, ‘In Due Time’!
Thanks
